Penn State News reported that Abington students led the construction of a sukkah to commemorate Sukkot, the seven-day Jewish harvest festival.
The students were part of Hillel, a campus organization which educates, promotes, and engages the PSU Abington community in Judaism. The organization has approximately 70 students.
A sukkah is a temporary outdoor structure which intends to recall the huts the Israelites built for shelter in the desert following their exodus from Egypt. Sukkot begins Sunday, October 9 this year.
