Police searching for two male suspects involved in car shooting, last seen driving into Cheltenham Township

The Philadelphia Police Department is searching for two men connected to a shooting on the evening of Friday, April 12, during which a suspect got out of a car in traffic and fired several shots at the car behind him.

A 31-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken to an area hospital where he is in critical condition. An unidentified was armed and fired back at the suspects, police said.

Dash cam footage recovered from the victim’s vehicle shows a black Nissan Murano stop at the traffic light at Old York Road and Cheltenham Avenue, police said in a news release.

“The passenger of the Nissan Murano then exits the vehicle and walks towards the victim’s vehicle while firing several gunshots into the windshield,” the release said.

The suspects were last seen traveling north on Old York Road into Cheltenham Township.

Philadelphia police described the suspects as follows:

  • Suspect #1: Black male wearing a black balaclava style mask, black zip-up jacket over a white shirt, black or gray pants with a black belt.
  • Suspect 2: Black male, heavy build, full beard, wearing a black skull cap, large glasses with black frames, black hooded jacket with ’Nike’ logo on left chest, gray sweatpants, black and white sneakers.
