Plans for the Enclave at Kerlin Farm property, a 7.49-acre parcel located at 1050 Ashbourne Road in Elkins Park, are moving forward. The proposal calls for 79 age-restricted townhomes in three four-story multifamily buildings.
According to Henry Sekawungu, Director of Planning and Zoning, the developers are going through their sewer approval process, the details of which are reflected in this document. A resolution is expected from the board at the end of the month.
Once approved, the land development application will go through a review process sometime this summer. Permits and construction can begin after they receive their final application for approval by the board, Sekawungu said.
A proposal was first submitted to Cheltenham Township in December 2017 and received preliminary approval from the Board of Commissioners in December 2018.
The property dates back to the late 1600s and features one of the oldest houses in the township and Montgomery County, according to a document compiled by Ed Landau. The original structures are still standing today, as seen in the following photos:
