Pizza Wheel of Jenkintown sold to new owners, The Highland of Glenside releases new menus

Pizza Wheel, located at 314 York Road Jenkintown, is under new ownership as of Monday, October 20.

Co-owners Dan and Chelsea Katz, Cheltenham High School graduates who also own The Highland in Glenside and West Avenue Grille in Jenkintown, said an opportunity presented itself and they took it.

“It was something that came our way, so we ran with it. We’re really focused on The Highland and making that a great place,” Dan told Glenside Local. “West Avenue Grille is going on 25 years this year and it’s a well-oiled machine. This gives us time to focus.”

Dan said the new owners don’t plan on changing the menu, the recipes, or the staff. From their Instagram post about the sale:

It is with bittersweet morale that we are announcing that K to Z Collective has sold Pizza Wheel! This decision did not come lightly or easily however, after long, careful consideration we have decided this was an opportunity we needed to take. While we are disheartened that Pizza Wheel will no longer be part of the K to Z family, we are excited about the possibilities of what we will bring to our vision, growth and collective.

From day 1 the support from this community for our restaurant has never shorted our expectations. We love the new faces we met, friends we have made and things we have learned. The vision for the concept is one that we will always love and hold close to our hearts. We want to thank each and every person who have been part of our team and been patrons to our restaurant. We couldn’t have done it without you!

The new owners are wonderful and we look forward to watching them succeed. They have acquired the name, menu and products so you all can continue to enjoy the foundation we have built. Pizza Wheel gave us some amazing memories we will always cherish. We had the chance to create awesome food products, meet a lot of new people and it is our aim to wish the best for the new owners and how they will continue the legacy in serving our community.

Thank you for always being part of our ever evolving movement forward. It’s not a goodbye, it’s a thrilling chance to say, you’ll see us again for what’s next.

“Chelsea and I are from the area. We want nothing more than to have a laid-back hangout to thrive in the area we grew up in. We’ve found what people want and enjoy, so we pivoted,” he said. “It’s a fun atmosphere at The Highland. We’ve totally revamped management and our kitchen, as well as our staffing.”

Katz noted that he and Chelsea are “hands-on owners and we want to hear from our customers.”
