Ron and Adel Shapira, owners of the Pita Pocket Eatery at 582 Cottman Avenue in Cheltenham Township, announced that today was their last day in business.
“We would like to thank all of you who came this week and bought all our food. We have only left with some pita bread,” Ron posted.
The Middle Eastern-style eatery opened in 2011. Ownership announced the planned closure on July 16:
To all our customers and friends. Pita Pocket Eatery will close its doors for good on July 31st 2026. We will continue to fully operate until 7:00 PM on that day. We would like to thank all our supporters and friends, you have become our family.
Again, our heartfelt thanks to all for making every day fun.
