Ricardo Rivera, 32, of Philadelphia, has been sentenced for two to five years in prison after pleading guilty to firing gunshots into a home at the 300 block of Meetinghouse Road in Abington Township on August 22, 2022.
According to The Mercury, Rivera had an altercation earlier in the day with the owner of the Abington Township residence.
No one was injured during the shooting. Detectives viewed several threatening text messages sent a few hours before the shooting from a phone that was linked to Rivera.
“In the interior of the home police located a projectile that had perforated an exterior wall to a sunroom and had broken a pane of glass inside the home. One of the occupants of the home heard what he believed were three gunshots,” Abington Detective Philip Geliebter alleged in the criminal complaint. “Responding police recovered a fired cartridge casing outside of the home and a fired bullet was recovered inside the home.”
