Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge – Update

The Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge over the Sandy Run is still under construction today.

In mid-December of 2018, a statement indicated that “winter weather [is delaying]…completion of [the] new Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge in Springfield Township,” according to Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners.

“The scheduled completion of the new bridge carrying Pennsylvania Avenue (Route 2027) over Sandy Run in Springfield Township…has been delayed until mid-to-late January 2019,” according to that statement.  “Cold weather conditions on the work site has adversely impacted the construction schedule.  The bridge is currently under construction as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project and had previously been expected to be complete in late December 2018.”
