Penn State Abington releases vaccination rates for students and employees

Penn State Abington has released vaccination rates for their students and employees as of September 7th.

90% of the full-time employees at the Abington campus have indicated that they are fully vaccinated This number includes 100% of the administrators, 94% of their academic personnel (instructors, researchers, and faculty) and 84% of the nonunion staff.

74% of students living on campus and 55% of students living off campus uploaded their proof of vaccination, making the combined rate for all students at Penn State Abington approximately 57%. These percentages could change as more students are uploading their proof of vaccination; 43% of the campus student body have yet to respond.

From the Penn State News:

“We are gratified to see such a large percentage of our faculty and staff are vaccinated,” said Abington Chancellor Margo DelliCarpini. “We are seeing more and more students upload their proof of vaccination as the semester gets underway and will be working to support all of our students in the vaccination process. I encourage those who have not yet received the vaccine to do so. This is a critical need for our campus and to promote the health and safety of the entire Penn State Abington community.”

Penn State has announced previously that unvaccinated students and faculty must submit to weekly COVID-19 tests which is the catalyst for students uploading their proof of vaccination.
