Peace, Love, & Juice

That’s how the saying goes at Glenside’s soon to be open juice bar. Situated next to the Greek restaurant, Elia, and an estate jeweler, Bailey, Banks & Bob’s, is where Crate & Press Juice Bar will set its roots, right in the heart of the Keswick Village. And when you walk through the door, peace, love, & juice is just the vibe that co-owners Joe and John have cultivated in their new shop. With an aesthetic typically reserved for center city cafes, Crate & Press brings something new to town, and I think you’re going to like it.

John, half of the ownership group of Crate & Press said he drew inspiration from trips out west and down in Miami where the juice shops are as abundant as the white sand beaches. Both of the owners are passionate about living healthy lifestyles and hope to share that with their customers. John said that he and his business partner want to create a one of a kind experience in downtown Glenside. While pubs, taverns, and diners abound in the area, a juice shop is a welcomed addition.

The menu will consist of a variety of juices, along with paninis, avocado toasts, flatbreads, soups – including seasonal flavors – açaí bowls, self serve La Colombe coffee, and shots, such as ginger and sea moss, which John says is something you don’t find everywhere. The shop is outfitted with a beautiful cherry wood bar from Manayunk Timber that sits up against the window wall and looks onto Keswick Ave – ideal for people watching – and the contrast between the soft fabric and marketplace style chairs create a cozy atmosphere that will make you want to stay a while. Equipped with a Sonos sound system, a diffuser from the Miami Beach EDITION hotel, and an Instagram friendly green wall lets you know that the owners had a specific vision in mind for this project.

Crate & Press Juice Bar is set to open in early November, and I have a good feeling that the juice will be well worth the squeeze. Follow Crate & Press Juice Bar on Instagram @crateandpress for official opening details.
