Cheltenham High School boys’ basketball head coach and Class of 2005 alum Patrick Fleury hit the century mark Friday night.
The Panthers took down Frankford High School with a decisive 58-37 victory in the first round of the Bruce Hall Tip Off tournament. The game was Coach Fleury’s 100th win of his career and the first game of his sixth year as the Panthers’ head coach, during which time he’s compiled a 100-27 overall record.
According to local historian Chuck Langerman, he is only the third Cheltenham boys’ basketball coach in school history to win 100 games. Steve Daley is the all-time leader with 294 victories and Dr. Scott Eveslage, a 1989 CHS graduate, is second with 194 career wins.
In five years at the helm, Coach Fleury has never had a losing season. He was named the 2021-22 Pennsylvania Co-Coach of the Year and has led numerous Panthers to a host of accomplishments and accolades, including numerous SOL All League and PIAA All State player recognitions.
