PA Turnpike introducing texting program to alert drivers of unpaid tolls

The Pennsylvania Turnpike has announced a six-month pilot program which sends text messages regarding unpaid tolls to help drivers avoid collection fees.

The program begins June 1 and is intended be faster and more convenient than mail. To avoid scams, messages will come from a specific, pre-announced number, PA Turnpike officials said.
