Jasmine Paramore, longtime owner of Styles of Elegance in Jenkintown, is currently outfitting her salon’s third home.

A resident of Willow Grove (Upper Moreland Township), Paramore first opened 14 years ago at 740 Yorkway Place. She said her business began outgrowing the space around the same time she noticed a space for lease at 425 Old York Road, which had been Styles of Elegance’s second home since 2019.

“I took the next steps to open there and be on a busier street with more traffic. It’s steps away from my old salon,” she told Glenside Local. “Everyone sees me right from the roadway.”

Earlier this year, Paramore purchased a multi-use property at 475 Old York Road. She said she’s current renovating the first floor to make it the new Styles of Elegance. The second floor will have apartments.

“I also purchased the adjacent home, and the apartment is for rent. It has a new roof, new carpet, new paint, new appliances, everything,” she said. “Jenkintown has been very helpful with the process. It’s a crazy full-circle moment to become a property owner in the town I’ve been working in for over a decade.”

Paramore expects to open the rebranded Styles of Elegance on or around February 1.

“It’s a big commitment to the town and a sign of how well she’s doing,” borough manager George Locke said. “It’s a real success story.”
