“Fitman” Eric Brown, owner of the Fitman Performance & Physique Center and the Fademan Precision Barbershop in Abington, and his wife, Shekhinah B., are preparing to welcome their first child this fall after years of perseverance and faith.
The familiar names within Philadelphia’s fitness, arts, and entrepreneurial communities shared the news as they continue serving the community while building their businesses, creative projects, and outreach efforts across the Philadelphia area.
Fitman, founder of the Fitman Performance & Physique Center and the Fademan Precision Barbershop in Abington, is a nationally recognized personal trainer, athletic performance coach, professional natural bodybuilder, and licensed barber. He won the 2022 NGA Mr. Natural Philadelphia title, and his work has been featured by NBC10, FOX29, WURD Radio, Men’s Health, and Glenside Local.
Shekhinah B. is the founder of The Women’s Coalition for Empowerment, a nonprofit organization focused on arts, culture, and education. She is an internationally experienced vocalist, speaker, author, and creative cultural producer whose work has been featured by NBC10, FOX29, CBS3, and PHL17. She is also the creator and curator of Philadelphia’s Juneteenth Wellness and Arts Festival at Cherry Street Pier, bringing together artists, entrepreneurs, educators, and wellness advocates throughout the Philadelphia region and beyond.
While both have built respected public brands individually and together, the couple says this season of life carries a deeper meaning than any professional accomplishment.
“This is the greatest blessing of our lives,” Fitman shared. “As first-time parents preparing to welcome a child later this year, this journey has given us an even deeper appreciation for faith, perseverance, gratitude, and family. Success requires struggle. The most meaningful things in life are built through faith, discipline, patience, and continuing to move forward even when the path is uncertain.”
The couple acknowledged that the road to this chapter was not simple, but said the experience strengthened both their marriage and perspective on life.
“For me, especially as someone who will be 43 at the time of birth, this chapter is incredibly meaningful,” Shekhinah B. said. “Sometimes life unfolds differently than you imagined, but through every season we continued building, creating, supporting one another, and staying hopeful. That makes this blessing even more special. Faith and perseverance can carry you through even the most difficult seasons.”
Support and congratulations have already begun pouring in from family, friends, longtime clients, supporters, artists, athletes, and community members who have followed both of their journeys over the years.
