Over 25,000 in Montgomery County have now received first dose of vaccine. See the latest case numbers, etc


As of January 15th, Pennsylvania reports that 25,193 people in Montgomery County have received the first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. This is up from the 10,973 that was reported on January 8th. Of the 25,193, there are 3,109 have received the second dose.

Since our last report on January 8th, Montgomery County reports that there have been 2,333 new cases of Coronavirus in the county (see daily numbers in the graph below). This brings the total number of cases countywide since the start of the pandemic to 38,603.

The number of cases from the most recent 14 days has increased by 166 versus the previous 14 days. Cases from the most recent seven days have decreased by 297 versus the previous seven days.

As of January 16th, there are 381 patients in Montgomery County hospitals due to Coronavirus. There are currently 38 patients requiring a ventilator.

There have been 39 deaths due to Coronavirus reported between January 8th and January 15th. This brings the total number of deaths countywide since the start of the pandemic is 1,099.

The 14-day PCR positivity rate is 10.36% as of January 10th, down from 11.1% as of January 7th. Having this number at 5% or under is considered suppression of the virus.

  • Abington is at 2,765 cases, which is 143 more than since January 8th. There have been 99 deaths, which is four more than since January 8th
  • Cheltenham is 1,730 cases, which is 48 more than since January 8th. There have been 65 deaths
  • Jenkintown is at 153 cases, which is seven more than since January 8th. There has been one death
  • Springfield is at 1,203 cases, which is 35 more than since January 8th. There have been 92 deaths
  • Rockledge is at 149 cases, which is nine more since January 8th. There have been two deaths
