Open Book Bookstore and Capricorn Books to participate in 2nd annual Philly Bookstore Crawl

Open Book Bookstore in Elkins Park and Capricorn Books of Jenkintown will join more than 30 independent book shops in the city and suburbs for the second annual Philly Bookstore Crawl on Saturday, August 24.

The event features sales, giveaways and author events at book shops around the city.

From the Crawl’s website:

The concept is simple. On the date of the crawl, at the end of the summer, participating bookstores around town are hosting unique and special events. Discounted books? Exciting giveaways? In-store author signings? You’ll see!

There’s no specific trail to follow. No route. Just a bundle of bookshops around town, all doing something special on one given day.

Capricorn Books will host rom-com author Laura Piper Lee between 12:00pm and 3:00pm the day of the Crawl. More details here.

In related business, 1975 Cheltenham High School graduate Molly Russakoff unveiled the Philadelphia Bookstore Map last year.
