CBS News Philadelphia recently paid a visit to O’Neill’s Food Market in Glenside to talk to employees about the $100,000 lottery ticket that was sold by the store on Wednesday, June 5.
Manager Tom Joyce said the winner was the grandfather of an O’Neill’s cashier.
“He thought he won a couple hundred dollars,” he said. “He didn’t realize and then we ran it through and it was $100,000.”
Joyce says since then, more customers have been coming to O’Neill’s.
The first time O’Neill’s sold a big winning ticket, the owners took the workers to a Phillies game. Once they get the $500 bonus from this latest win, they hope to do so again.
