The Old York Road Historical Society, headquartered at Alverthorpe Manor, 515 Meetinghouse Road, will resume their historical lectures series this spring. The lecture series is sponsored by a grant from the Jenkintown Lyceum.
The following presentations are free and open to the public, and will be offered in-person in the John Barnes Room and on Zoom*:
- Wednesday, March 8, 2023: Leigh Altadonna will present The History of the Wyncote Audubon Society.
- Wednesday, April 12, 2023: Ron A. Sloto will be present Mineral Industries of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
- Wednesday, May 10, 2023: Jean Sorg, Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds, will present Researching Your Roots via the County’s Property Records Databases.
Programs begin at 7:30pm. Refreshments will be available at the conclusion of the lecture.
The Old York Road Historical Society was established in 1936 and hosts 5 lectures a year, on the second Wednesday of March, April, May, October and November.
