Marguerite Tague Brown

Resident of Harleysville, PA/Hometown of Glenside, PA

Age 87

19332021

Marguerite Tague Brown of Harleysville passed away at 87 years of age on February 23, at Lansdale Abington Hospital.  Many friends referred to her as Marge or Margie, and some of the family called her Mady.  Marge was born in Glenside, Pennsylvania on March 8, 1933 and was the daughter of Francis A Tague and Marguerite (Bodo) Tague and the sister of Francis, Robert and Dennis Tague.  Surviving are her four sons, Sam, Bill, Tom, and Craig.

She attended Little flower High School in the class of 1951, and subsequently graduated from Chestnut Hill College with her bachelor’s degree in 1955.

Marge was always a mother first as she worked as a substitute teacher, waitress, or processing insurance claims at Lees Carpets in Audubon.  She enjoyed the beach/ocean in Ocean City, playing piano, drawing/painting, poetry, reading, watching birds and horses, solving Sudoku, and loved talking about family history.  In addition, she enjoyed pet sitting as a sideline where she could express her care for animals.

Marge had a most generous, loving spirit and had unwavering faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.  She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Skippack, Pa. for many years.  She lovingly referred to her close friends at church as the “lunch bunch” because they met for lunch many times on Tuesdays.

Her Memorial and Burial Service will be held in the spring as Covid-19 restrictions are presumably lifted.  She will be placed at rest in Limerick Gardens (Limerick, Pa.) where several family members are placed.  Cards may be sent to Sam Brown, 371 West Main Street, Collegeville, Pa. 19426, and will be placed on display at her Memorial Service.  Memorial contributions can be made to one of her favorite charities, Mom’s House, 145 South Main Street, Phoenixville, Pa 19460.  Information about Mom’s House can be had at momshouse-phoenixville.org or (610) 935-7711.  Additional details about her Memorial Services will be provided on this site when the dates are established.
