A series of “No Kings” protests will be held in Abington, Willow Grove, and Hatboro on Saturday, October 17.
Unlike previous demonstrations that functioned purely as street protests, Saturday’s events focus on voter participation, early voting turnout, and voter registrations ahead of the November 3 midterm general election.
The Abington event, titled No Kings: Elections Matter – Vote Your Voice, will take place from 2:00pm — 4:00pm in a parking lot in front of District Taco (1475 Old York Road.)
The Willow Grove event, titled No Kings: Vote Now with Social Justice Indivisible and Indivisible Greater Jenkintown, will take place from 10:00am — 2:00pm at Montco Voter Services, Willow Grove Annex (102 N. York Road).
The Hatboro event, titled No Kings: Drop Box Party – Celebrate Voting and Encourage Others, is private. To learn more details, you can sign up here.
A national online wrap-up and election defense discussion is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21.
From NoKings.org:
Efforts to undermine trust in our elections and make it harder for people to be heard are happening across the country right now. Our democracy depends on every eligible voter having the freedom to participate without intimidation, interference, or barriers.
Together, we’re making No Kings on October 17 the BIGGEST Election Protection and Early Vote activation in history.
