National Weather Service issues Winter Weather Advisory for eastern Montco on Dec 24

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for greater Glenside and surrounding areas on Tuesday, December 24 between 5:00am and 1:00pm.

While in the northern and western parts of Montgomery County only light snow is expected, areas to the south and east will likely see mixed precipitation, including freezing rain.

From the NWS’ announcement:

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations up
to one inch and ice accumulations around a light glaze.

* WHERE...In New Jersey, Northwestern Burlington County. In
Pennsylvania, Eastern Montgomery and Lower Bucks Counties.

* WHEN...From 5 AM to 1 PM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road
conditions. The hazardous conditions will likely impact the
Tuesday morning commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road
conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by
calling 5 1 1.

Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while
driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken
on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and
slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
