Multiple fire companies respond to early-morning Wyndmoor housefire

Flourtown Fire Company, Oreland Fire Company, and Wyndmoor Fire Department crews were dispatched at 6:30am on Thursday, February 22 for a reported house fire in the 800 block of Church Road, Wyndmoor.

According to Oreland officials, firefighters forced entry into the house and were able to quickly extinguish the fire located in the bedroom.

There were no injuries to the homeowner or first responders, officials said.

Officials said Flourtown’s Ladder 6 was dispatched as the first due ladder and arrived on location and assumed the role of first due engine.

“Ladder 6’s crew stretched an 1-3/4” hoseline, forced entry and extinguished the bedroom fire. The fire was placed under control within 20 minutes,” the company said in a social media post.

The Community Ambulance Association of Ambler, the Springfield Township Police Department, and Weldon Fire Company assisted.
