Fire companies from Elkins Park, Cheltenham Township, Rockledge, and Wyndmoor took part in extinguishing a housefire on Wednesday, June 14.

Cheltenham Fire Company arrived at the residence in the late afternoon to find smoke showing from all sides of the house and all occupants safely outside.

Crews found the origin of the fire in the basement and were able to extinguish the spread of flames before the rest of the house was affected.

One firefighter was transported to the hospital with a minor injury.
