The Elkins Park Fire Company announced today that crews were dispatched at approximately 5:22am on Sunday, December 1 to assist La Mott Fire Company with a second-floor structure fire on the 1800 block of Willow Avenue in Cheltenham Township.
According to their post, units found heavy fire coming from the twin home. Squad 3 stretched a handline to the second floor and attempted to oust the fire with water within three minutes of arrival.
Officials said two of the home’s occupants and one Elkins Park firefighter sustained burns and were transported to Abington Memorial Hospital. The firefighter and one occupant were later transferred to Jefferson Main hospital for treatment.
Glenside and Cheltenham Fire Companies assisted and Cheltenham police and EMS were on scene as well, the company said.
