Ms. Margaret R. “Peg” Whitcraft, a retired longtime librarian at Upper Moreland High School, passed away on Saturday, December 21 at UPMC Lititz. She was 97.
Ms. Whitcraft retired as Supervisor of Libraries and coached girls’ basketball, softball, and cheerleading during her time in Willow Grove. She was inducted into the Northern Lebanon Hall of Fame in 2008, her obituary said.
Ms. Whitcraft graduated from Lititz High School (now Warwick) before earning her B.S. in Education from Millersville State College and her M.S. in Library Science from the University of Southern California, in addition to postgraduate studies at Penn State, Temple, and Drexel Universities.
“On behalf of Peg’s family, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Luther Acres and UPMC Lititz for the exceptional care and compassion you provided her. Your kindness brought comfort to Peg, and your support meant the world to our family,” her obituary said.
Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
