Mr. Robert Krauser, Cheltenham native and former Cheltenham Township police officer, has passed away at 84

Mr. Robert Krauser, a 1958 graduate of Cheltenham High School and a former officer with the Cheltenham Township Police Department, passed away peacefully at Transitions Hospice on October 26. He was two weeks shy of his 85th birthday.

Mr. Krauser served in the Air Force after high school and began his career as a police officer soon after, his obituary said. He attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia for a summer training program in the early 1980s and continued learning until his retirement after 30 years in 1992 as Lieutenant Detective.

Mr. Krauser helped create the D.A.R.E. program in the Cheltenham School District and was “immensely proud to coordinate police security with the U.S. Secret Service in 1989 when George Bush gave the commencement speech at Cheltenham High School,” his obituary said.
