Mr. Joseph William Gleave, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, former Upper Moreland Little League umpire, and former Treasurer of the Upper Moreland Republican Association, passed away on December 29, 2025. He was 82. 

Mr. Gleave enlisted with the Marine Corp after graduating high school and served in multiple capacities and various locations, including a year in Iceland. He received an Honorable Discharge at the rank of Sargeant, his obituary said.

In addition to umpiring, he also served as head groundskeeper for the Upper Moreland baseball fields, his obituary said.

A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Gleave’s life will be held on Saturday January 3rd at 9:30 am, with a mass at 10:30, at St. David’s Catholic Church in Willow Grove. Burial will be help on Monday January 5, 2025 at 9:30 am, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
