Mr. George Popper, co-owner of Jerzee’s Sports Bar & Pizzeria in Glenside, has passed away

Jerzee’s Sports Bar & Pizzeria in Glenside announced that co-owner Mr. George Popper passed away on Sunday, April 7. He was 84.

According to Mr. Popper’s obituary, his passing was peaceful and he had family by his side.

Mr. Popper’s career included building and remodeling homes in Glenside and the surrounding areas. In addition to serving as a part owner of Jerzee’s, he was also part owner of The Mill Pub in Northeast Philadelphia, his obituary said.

“Mr. Popper was full of life, and brought a smile to every person he came in contact with. He would show up to Jerzee’s ready with snarky comments, hilarious jokes, and many, many condolences for whoever had to deal with Barry that day (lol),” Jerzee’s Facebook post said.

Memorial services will be on Friday, April 12, at St. Lukes in Glenside. The viewing will begin at 10:00am, followed by Mass at 11:00am.

“Rest in peace, Mr. Popper. You will be missed by all,” Jerzee’s wrote.
