Fred R. Wahler, Sr., a 1956 graduate of Cheltenham High School and United States Navy veteran, passed away on Sunday, March 2. He was 87.
Mr. Wahler was a member of Cheltenham’s marching band, orchestra, the wrestling team, track team, as well as a participant of the Cheltenham Township Concert Band, his obituary said.
Between active duty and the reserves, he spent a combined total of 32 years serving for the United States military, specializing in intelligence.
Mr. Wahler went on to work for Intelligence Research Specialist Computer Analyst. In 1988, he retired from the Naval Space and Naval Warfare Center of Philadelphia and then served as the chairman of the board of directors for The Navmar Applied Sciences Corporation of Warminster, his obituary said.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Friday, March 7 from 10:00am until his funeral mass at 11:00am at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse Road, Jamison. Interment following at Resurrection Cemetery.
