More details on Freedom Fuel Network, which recently opened a location in Dresher

Freedom Fuel Network, a new chain of service stations which recently opened a location at 1400 Dreshertown Road in Dresher (Upper Dublin Township), has remained somewhat enigmatic, according to various media outlets which have attempted to learn more about the company.

“The FIRST Freedom Fuel Network gas station has LANDED in Philadelphia, lowering the price at the pump to $3.47 for our 47th President,” the White House announced on X.com on Tuesday. “President Trump is leading the charge to lower gas prices this summer – putting more money in your pocket.”

20 Freedom Fuels are located in Pennsylvania and another five are in New Jersey, according to the network’s website. On Wednesday, The White House released a video promoting the Dresher location.

Freedom Fuel Network is a private company and owns all 25 locations, a White House official told TIME Magazine.

“The Administration is not involved in the company, nor has the Administration given the company any funding,” the White House official said. “There is no other entity or person subsidizing the lower gasoline costs.”

The White House official continued:

The President has called for companies to lower their prices at the pump; this company responded to the President’s call for action. They are simply reducing their margin to make prices at the pump more affordable for drivers in Philadelphia and New Jersey. This retailer is taking the lead, others should follow.

ABC News wrote that “selling gas at that price point … would likely eliminate any profit and potentially cost the 25 participating stations a total of more than quarter million dollars every month … It is unclear how long the Freedom Fuel Network plans to continue selling gas at $3.47 a gallon.”

The New York Times published an article today which states that “the Freedom Fuel gas stations appear to be mostly small operations with a limited selection of food and other merchandise, meaning they would be dependent on fuel margins.”

CNN wrote that “it’s unclear who is running the discount gas stations and for how long”, noting that no owner was listed in an incorporation filing for Freedom Fuel Network in Delaware on June 23.

According to an article published today by The Hill, Freedom Fuel’s prices began rising days after the stations made their debut.

“GasBuddy, an app and online tracking resource for gas prices, has recorded prices of at least $3.57 per gallon at the majority of Freedom Fuel’s 25 locations as of Friday morning, according to its Gas Price Map tool”, they wrote.

A White House representative told CBS Harrisburg that prices at the Freedom Fuel stations would continue to “fluctuate.”

“The prices at the gas stations will fluctuate — possibly coming down even further — depending on the market and the location, given some are located in Pennsylvania and New Jersey,” the spokesperson said.
