Montco DA searching for 3rd suspect in Norristown murder, considered armed and dangerous

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele and Norristown Police Chief Michael Trail announced today the arrests of Mark Fields, 18, of Norristown, and Theodore Adams, 17, of Philadelphia, on charges of First-Degree Murder related to the November 30 killing of Hamid Boyd in Norristown.

Officials previously offered a $5,000 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the identity of the vehicle and shooters.

“Video surveillance from immediately after the killing captured three male suspects entering a white sedan, possibly a Chevrolet, which then fled the area,” the DA posted on December 3. “Detectives are seeking information about the identity of any of the suspects and/or the white vehicle.”

According to the District Attorney’s office, an arrest warrant has been issued for Ziyker Washington, 20, of Norristown, who is wanted on charges of First-Degree Murder, Second-Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Possession of a Firearm Prohibited and related charges.

An investigation found that Boyd is a member of “The Ave” gang, and Washington, Fields and Adams are members of the rival gang “1200.” Two days before Boyd was killed, Washington posted a photo on social media that depicts him holding a gun up in the air with Adams, Fields and another male standing behind him. The photo is marked with type that says “MAN FUCK DA AVE” along with a laughing crying emoji. Within hours of Boyd’s murder, Washington’s social media page was deactivated or renamed, the DA said.

Washington is described as 5’8″, 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He is to be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is advised to call 911, and anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Norristown Police at 610-270-0977 or Montgomery County Detectives at 610-278-3386. From the District Attorney’s post:

The murder happened at approximately 6:08 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, in the 1000 block of Powell Street in Norristown. Norristown Police responded to Powell and Spruce Streets after ShotSpotter detected numerous gunshots in the area. Police arrived to find Boyd suffering from multiple gunshots. Boyd was pronounced dead at Jefferson Montgomery Einstein Hospital. At the scene, detectives recovered 45 fired cartridge casings (FCCs).

A joint homicide investigation was launched by Norristown Police and Montgomery County Detectives. The investigation found through video surveillance, interviews and other investigative means that the defendants were together at an apartment on Johnson Highway in Norristown when Washington borrowed his girlfriend’s white Chevrolet Cruze, which was recovered a few days after the murder in King of Prussia. The three defendants traveled together in the white Chevrolet Cruze to the area of Powell and Spruce Streets. Following the shooting, the defendants can be seen running to the waiting vehicle, which then fled the area and returned to the apartment on Johnson Highway.

He was arraigned on Dec. 13, 2025, by Magisterial District Judge Henry Schireson on charges of First-Degree Murder, Second-Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Possession of a Firearm Prohibited and related charges. There is no bail available for First-Degree Murder, and Fields was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m., Jan. 23, 2026, before Magisterial District Judge Todd Barnes.

Adams was arrested today without incident in Newark, N.J., on charges of First-Degree Murder, Second-Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Possession of a Firearm Prohibited and related charges. Adams will be extradited back to Montgomery County and will be arraigned upon his arrival.
