Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Lower Merion Superintendent of Police Andrew Block announced today an arrest warrant for Kelvin Roberts, 42, of Philadelphia.
According to the District Attorney’s press release, Roberts is charged with Second-Degree Murder, Robbery, Burglary and related charges in connection to a home invasion and homicide in Lower Merion.
From the release:
At around 2:20 a.m., on Sunday, December 9, 2024, Lower Merion Police responded to 9 Meredith Road in Lower Merion Township for a report of a home invasion shooting. They arrived to find Andrew Gaudio, 25, deceased with multiple gunshot wounds, and Bernadette Gaudio, 61, conscious and suffering several gunshot wounds. Bernadette was transported to Lakenau Medical Center where she underwent emergency surgery. She remains in critical condition.
A joint investigation by the Montgomery County Detective Bureau and the Lower Merion Township Police Department found dashcam footage from a Lower Merion Police Patrol vehicle which captured the officer pulling in front of a white Hyundai Azera, driven by Roberts, leaving the scene of the homicide. The vehicle has a Pennsylvania Registration 24963 PD. During a search through Pennsylvania Department of Transportation records, detectives matched the vehicle to a resident on Sansom Street in Philadelphia. Also found on the dash camera footage was a green Jeep Cherokee, later revealed to be owned by the victim, found leaving the scene. On Sansom Street, the Jeep Cherokee was identified and recovered for processing.
At the Sansom Street address police spoke to a juvenile at the residence, and showed them a photograph of the suspect in the Hyundai Azera. The juvenile identified the person as Kelvin Roberts.
Officials advise anyone who sees Roberts to call 911 and avoid approaching him as he may be armed and dangerous.
He is described as a black male with black and gray hair standing six feet tall and weighing 260 pounds.
The District Attorney’s Office is offering a $5,000 reward for information leads to his apprehension. For anyone with tips on the whereabouts of Roberts, call Lower Merion Police Department at 610-278-3386 or Montgomery County Detective at 610-278-3386.
