Update as of 8:00pm: Thanks to the help of public tips, the missing juvenile has been located and is safe.

The Abington Township Police Department announced that Christopher Brown, 13, has been missing since 3:00pm from the area of Susquehanna Road after leaving Abington Middle School.

Brown is described as 5’0″ tall and weighs about 85 lbs. He was wearing a black/brown jacket, white pants, brown shoes, and a blue backpack.

He was last seen in Cheltenham shortly after 6:00pm on Tuesday in the area of Hedgerow Lane and Rock Creek Drive, police said. He frequents the area of Lynwood Garden Apartments.

Officials said Brown has special needs and there is concern for his safety. The department asks area residents to keep an eye out and call (267) 536-1100 with any information.
