Dr. Jerome Check, 80, of Melrose Park, has been charged with sexually assaulting three patients during appointments at his Mount Laurel office, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and Mount Laurel Police Department Chief Timothy Hundall announced on Tuesday.
Dr. Check, a gynecologist who specializes in reproductive medicine, was charged with three counts of Sexual Assault (Second Degree). Officials said he was taken into custody in September and released following an appearance in Superior Court in Mount Holly.
The case is now being prepared for presentation to a grand jury for possible indictment.
The investigation revealed that the assaults occurred between December 2024 and March 2025 when Dr. Check was alone in the examination room with the victims during their appointments. The investigation further revealed that two of the victims believed their visits would be informational in nature and had not anticipated undergoing an invasive exam until Dr. Check indicated it was necessary.
According to 6ABC’s coverage, patients said they had seen Dr. Check at offices in both Mount Laurel and Elkins Park.
Investigators continue to seek possible victims.
