Sergeant Tyler Mauk and his wife Jeanette Mauk opened JDog Carpet Cleaning & Floor Care on February 20, and will be serving the Glenside area through the largest veteran franchise in the nation.
The JDog brand creates business ownership opportunities exclusively for veterans and their families, and the Mauks hope to help local veterans that are struggling to transition into civilian work life.
“We’re really excited to get out into the area and be able to support local veterans and the local community,” Jeanette said. “We strive to try and bring down the unemployment rate. Our goal is to bring the rate below one percent.”
The Mauks are based in Collegeville, and are serving the Lansdale are as well.
“I’m doing all the on-site cleaning, and we’ll be looking to hire shortly,” Jeanette said. “My husband is taking care of the backend. He still has a day job as an accountant, so he’s handling all of our finances.”

Tyler is currently a Sergeant 2nd Platoon Squad Leader with B Troop 2/104th CAV. Jeanette also comes from a lengthy family military background. Her maternal grandfather was in the 23rd infantry during the Korean conflict, and her paternal grandfather was an army infantry in World War I and World War II. Her paternal grandfathers’ cousin was a Brigadier General, and his cousin’s son was a helicopter pilot for former President Ronald Reagan.
Combining this background along with Tyler’s father’s business of franchising various convenient stores and shipping stores, the brand was the perfect fit for this husband-wife duo.
