Steph Kines, a Glenside resident since 2015, launched Steph Kines Photo in 2018.

The service has provided newborn, maternity, family, senior portraits, and branding photography for hundreds of clients in Glenside, Jenkintown, Dresher, North Wales, Blue Bell, Norristown, Doylestown, Narberth, Roxborough, Manayunk, and the Main Line. She’s road tripped to sessions as north as Maine and as south as Florida.

In 2023 and 2024, the company’s newborn and maternity photography were named a Main Line Parent Family Favorite and a recipient of the LOVE Awards by Main Line Parent Magazine. Parents vote on the winners each year.

A Baltimore native, Kines served as a nanny for 12 years internationally and domestically before her foray into photography. She says the two occupations complement one another.

“Connecting with children and understanding parents’ routines and schedules has helped me learn to cater to families with young children. My sessions are intentionally playful, candid, and fun,” she said. “It’s really important to me to eliminate the stress of family photography, so choosing locations or activities that your family naturally engages in can make the session more enjoyable for everybody.”

Kines provides phone consultations, style guides, digital galleries and payments, and every client leaves with prints.

“My tagline for my business is ‘Unexpected portraits for the modern family’. I keep the sessions simple and true to who you are as a family,” she said. “I want everyone to leave a session saying, ‘I’ve never worked with a photographer like this.'”

“The consultations are where I learn more about your child’s personality, your morning routine(s), how your family bonds, etc.,” Kines said. “Style guides are also really important.
