Dr. Cecelia Baldwin, LPC, opened New Narratives Therapy of Jenkintown in 2018, just three years after she and her family relocated to Glenside.
“We love this area. The Jenkintown Arts Festival is really what sold us. We wanted to be a part of that, so it transpired from there,” Dr. Baldwin told Glenside Local, noting that her children are students in the Cheltenham School District. “I’m very happy to be in the community we’re in. I love where my practice is. We love the feel of it and get out when people are hosting festivals, markets, all of those things.”
Dr. Baldwin holds a doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a License as Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. Initially an individual treatment-only endeavor, her office at 315 York Road launched a group practice in 2019. Today, New Narratives Therapy features a team of eight multidisciplinary clinicians prepared to meet the needs of anyone aged three to 100.
According to Dr. Baldwin, their services are highly individualized and “treat the whole person in the context of their real life. We’re taking your experience and we’re working to create something that suits you as an individual.”

The practice offers therapy for individuals, family and couples therapy for children, adolescents and adults. Treatment options are available for those experiencing anything from anxiety to workplace stress to relationship struggles, trauma, and redefining identity. In-person and virtual options are available.
The office has interns to help clients find a good fit for treatment, Dr. Baldwin said.
“I think it’s important for people to understand that what we do is different from other clinics. We want to serve our clients well, so we do traditional outpatient therapy, as well as some unique therapies, including walking, in-home services for people who can’t get to our office, particularly with seniors,” she said. “We do monthly grief walks. If you’re struggling with grief, we’ll meet at a park and do some walking and some movement.”
Over the past year, New Narratives Therapy has embarked on a third evolution to become a nervous system-informed practice.
“Traditional therapy focuses on traditional approaches. We’re trying to blend those models with practical applications. We want people to know how to apply these methods, self-care, and movements into daily life,” Dr. Baldwin said. “If you come to us, we will do our very best to meet your needs, and if not, we’ll make recommendations for you.”
