McKinley Fire Company of Glenside announced that assistant engineer Matt Cavalier received the 2024 Firefighter of the Year Award during its annual holiday dinner on Wednesday, December 18.
The award was presented by Chief Philipsen in acknowledgment of Cavalier’s outstanding service this past year. The dinner “is a celebration and gesture of gratitude for the dedication shown by the volunteer members in providing essential emergency services to the community,” the company said in a post.
In related news, the Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro announced that members Savannah Brown, Cameron Dutter, Alec Shaffer, and Ben Zollers graduated from Firefighter 1 training during a ceremony at the Bucks County Public Safety Training Center for four of our members on Wednesday.




“These individuals put in over 200 hours in their free time, all while working full-time jobs, going to school full time and still volunteering with the fire company,” the company said in a post. “They are now nationally certified interior firefighters! We are very proud and grateful for their time, dedication, and effort.”
