Dr. Brian W. Scriven, superintendent of the Cheltenham School District, recently sent a memo to the community regarding the appointment of Mark Hoff as vice principal at Wyncote Elementary.

Hoff, formerly a vice principal at Cheltenham High School, begins the new position on August 1, Dr. Scriven said.

Mr. Hoff is a dedicated, highly respected educational leader who brings a wealth of experience, deep instructional knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to the students, staff, and families of the Cheltenham School District community. Mr. Hoff is a familiar face in our district, having dedicated over 15 years of his distinguished educational career to Cheltenham. His proven leadership, collaborative spirit, and passion for student-centered education make him an ideal fit for the Wyncote family.

Mr. Hoff has served the Cheltenham School District in a number of capacities since joining the district in 2009 as the Cheltenham High School Social Studies Chair. He performed in that role for close to two years before returning to the classroom as a teacher and continuing as chair from 2011 through 2021. During the 2021-22 school year, Mr. Hoff served in separate stints as the Grade 11 administrator at Cheltenham High School, and as the Grade 8 administrator at Cedarbrook Middle School. After returning to the classroom, he became a Cheltenham High School Vice Principal during the summer of 2024.

Mr. Hoff holds a Master of Education in educational leadership from Temple University, a Master of Education in secondary education, and a Bachelor of Arts in history from Lehigh University, graduating with top honors from both institutions. He also holds a Pennsylvania Administrative I Principal K-12 certification.

Spanning elementary substitute principal experience, middle school and high school administration, curriculum design, and restorative student support, Mr. Hoff’s diverse background equips him to hit the ground running at Wyncote. He is a passionate advocate for progressive, equitable, and restorative practices that ensure every child has the resources and environment to thrive.
