Marilyn Maye at 90 Years Young on Her Way to Glenside

Grammy nominated recording artist, Marilyn Maye, will be kicking off Dino’s Backstage’s second anniversary party this summer. Maye, the 90 year young, admirable Jazz diva is still performing now more than ever and will be here in Glenside, this June.

Dino’s Backstage feels blessed to have one of the” hottest cabaret singers” of all time, playing a big role in their second anniversary celebration. Hot, she certainly is, in fact, Marilyn Maye after 75 years in the business, is still making national news. While performing at the star studded, Jazz at Lincoln Center, in New York, Maye apparently owned the room and the press went wild. She made the headlines in New York, Philadelphia as well as San Francisco.

Mo Rocca, the CBS Sunday Morning Show host, said to Marilyn after the show, “There was a real sense that when you came on and performed, that they responded like, This is the real thing,”

After appearing on the Harry Connick Jr. Show, in February 435Magazine said Connick was so mesmerized by Marilyn’s performance at the Lincoln Center in which he was the emcee, that he stopped by her dressing room afterwards and invited her on his show.

Singing since she was 3, Marilyn had her own radio show in Des Moines at the early age of 15. She said she would receive requests from those in the service during World War II . Marilyn Maye is also known for making the most singing performances ever on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show, with seventy six shows in total. Carson would often refer to her as the “Super Singer”.

Believe it or not, at the age of 90, Marilyn Maye is fully booked through next year and will be performing all across the U.S.  The legend never stops and she is ready to wow you on June 22 through June 24 at Dino’s Backstage.
