Manor College of Jenkintown to receive $40K for sexual violence initiatives

State Rep. Ben Sanchez announced that Manor College of Jenkintown has been awarded $40,000 from the national It’s On Us campaign, which provides tools to higher education institutions to eradicate sexual violence from campuses.

Manor College may use the funds for initiatives including but not limited to: improving reporting and response systems regarding sexual violence, removing or reducing barriers that prevent survivors from reporting the abuse, and programming to shape a zero-tolerance attitude toward sexual violence on campus.

“I’m always honored to support Manor College in applying for an ‘It’s On Us’ grant. Every student has the right to a safe and supportive learning environment free from violence and harassment,” Sanchez said. “Supporting programs and policies that seek to hold abusers accountable and support survivors helps create a safer, more compassionate society where healing and justice are prioritized.”

Sanchez has supported this campaign and worked with state and Manor College officials to annually bring this grant back to his district, according to a press release.
