Devin Andrew Burns, 20, of Glenmoore, was sentenced to 8 to 16 years in prison for shooting a Hatboro man at Miles Park in Whitemarsh Township on November 13, 2024, the Pottstown Mercury reported.
Burns pleaded guilty to a felony charge of aggravated assault in connection with the incident that involved groups of females meeting for a fight in the park. Detectives said at least nine teenagers were present at the time of the shooting.
The investigation began when Whitemarsh police responded to the park for a report of a shooting in the parking lot. The shooting victim, a Hatboro man who was the current boyfriend of Burns’ ex-girlfriend, was shot in his pelvis, the Mercury said. He allegedly came to the park to protect his girlfriend “who was going to get jumped by a group of females”, police said.
