Man sentenced for transporting 210 heroin packets, stolen catalytic converter in Lower Moreland

Aramis Isaiah Matos, 27, of Philadelphia, was sentenced to 2-4 years in prison for a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver controlled substances in connection with a November 6, 2021 incident in Lower Moreland.

According to The Mercury, Lower Moreland police discovered 15 bundles of heroin—made from 210 packets—in the trunk of Matos’ car during a traffic stop at 4:15am. The vehicle did not bear registration as it traveled past the 2500 block of Philmont Avenue in Huntingdon Valley.

Officers also said they found a catalytic converter hidden in the spare tire area of the trunk.

“The catalytic converter appeared to have been cut from a vehicle (including its related sensor wire) with a reciprocating saw. When asked, Matos indicated that the catalytic converter had been stolen from a vehicle in Philadelphia,” Hochwind wrote in the arrest affidavit.
