Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation to host First Friday Gallery Talk on Feb 7 in Philly

The Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation is hosting a First Friday Gallery Talk titled “The Rebirth of America’s Forgotten Palace: Lynnewood Hall” on Friday, February 7 at 6:00pm at 219 S. 6th Street in Philadelphia.

The event is being held in partnership with the Athenaeum of Philadelphia.

From the description:

Located in Elkins Park, Lynnewood Hall was designed by Horace Trumbauer in 1897 as a home for Peter A.B. Widener and his family. After serving as a residence and later a seminary, the 110,000-square-foot Gilded Age mansion was left vacant and crumbling for over thirty years.

Presented in partnership with The Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation, Inc., this exhibition is the first to display fragments from the building, personal items from the Widener family and archival photographs to tell the rich history of Lynnewood Hall and what the future holds for this storied property.
