The Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation recently announced that they are looking to raise $1,250,000 to complete asbestos remediation for the main building on the property.
To donate to their cause, you can click here. $4,760 via 13 supporters has been raised at the time of this writing.
From their announcement, titled “LYNNEWOOD HALL PRE-RESTORATION HARD HAT TOURS: Asbestos Free in 2023”:
As an incentive to help us raise this money, we’re offering a limited number of exclusive pre-restoration hard hat tours. These tours will be scheduled AFTER remediation is completed, which is expected to take 4-5 months from when it starts. We’ll keep donors to this special campaign updated on the progress and will offer tour scheduling options as soon as we know when the work will be done.
These special tours will only include the primary building on the property and will not visit the Lodge or Gate House.
Due to the nature of the Lynnewood Hall “Asbestos Free in 2023” project the work to remove the asbestos must be done by licensed professionals and disposed of in compliance with environmental guidelines. We have completed extensive testing of the structures and have received multiple bids and we are ready to move forward with your help!
With Lynnewood Hall’s size and extent of asbestos contamination, we have A LOT of asbestos that needs to be contained and removed. We plan on having a window of a few months following remediation before our next phase of restoration work begins. Once we move to the next phase, hard hat tours may be unavailable or limited in scope depending on the location and extent of restoration work planned.
This is where you can help!
We’re offering a limited number of exclusive pre-restoration hard hat tours; we understand that the donation levels below may be out of reach for some at this point. Our goal is to raise the money needed to get remediation done as soon as we possibly can to make a variety of other opportunities to experience Lynnewood Hall available to the public. We have many exciting plans, and much work to do, we hope you will join this worthy cause! We appreciate donations of any size, and will put every dollar to work right away but please understand that we cannot offer tours for smaller donations at this time.
