Lower Moreland Township has shared updates on the following ongoing road projects:
Construction on Philmont Avenue (Tomlinson to Byberry)
Since October of 2024, Aqua has been replacing aging steel pipe with new ductile iron water main on Philmont Avenue. Aqua is currently doing a trench base asphalt repair in preparation for the final mill.

Red Lion/Philmont Intersection Project
The widening of the Red Lion Road is a multi-stage project to achieve the following improvements:
- Widening of Red Lion Road to provide dual northbound left turn lanes
- Widening of the eastern leg of Philmont Ave to provide a second through lane
- Restriping the western leg of Philmont Ave to provide two receiving lanes
- Traffic Signal Modifications and ADA upgrades to the intersection

Paving for both projects is scheduled to begin in July, officials said.
Roads to be milled and paved:
- Heaton Road
- Dogwood Lane (from Heaton Rd to Lewis Rd)
- Orchard Lane
- Hale Road
- Heaton Hill Lane
- Ridgeview Road
- Meadow Way
- Hunters Turn
- High Road (Red Lion Rd to Welsh Rd)
- Saint Albert’s Circle
Milling will start between July 6 and 13, officials said.
