Students from Lower Moreland High School participated in a Model Senate on Tuesday, December 10 at Temple University, host World Affairs Council of Philadelphia said.

The event included live debates on global challenges by role-playing U.S. Senators. Pennsylvania State Senator Sharif Street was the keynote speaker.

In related news, Upper Moreland High School senior Kareem Abounasra (pictured above) has been named a QuestBridge Match Scholarship recipient matched to Dartmouth University, the district announced yesterday.

“QuestBridge is a program that connects exceptional high school seniors with full four-year scholarships to some of the nation’s top colleges,” their post said. “This year, out of over 25,500 applicants, Kareem was one of the 2,627 students nationwide to receive this incredible honor.”
