The Lower Moreland Township Police Department saw several staff members receive promotions and commendations during the Board of Commissioners monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 13.
Sergeant McBride received a promotion and five new corporals were sworn in: Corporal Inman, Corporal Daniel, Corporal McCoy, Corporal Sireev and Corporal DeSanto.
Chief Scirrotto spoke on each officer’s accomplishments and Judge Thomas Murt swore in the promotes.
Officer Samuels, Officer Rolon and Officer Heckenswiler each received commendations for their recent efforts:
- Officer Samuels was commended on a felony retail theft arrest.
- Officer Rolon was commended on multiple arrests for theft Firearms not to be Carried Without a License, Possession of Drugs and other related charges.
- Officer Heckenswiler was commended on a traffic stop that led to an arrest for large amounts of drugs, drug paraphernalia, cash and two stolen firearms.
Finally, Detective Holly Halota was commended on her retirement after serving 27 years as a patrol officer, a traffic officer and a detective.
Detective Halota was also honored during a get-together on Friday, January 26.
