Lower Moreland police arrest two in connection with $2.5K theft

The Lower Moreland Township Police Department announced the arrests of Alvis Estevez German and Kelvin Belliard Estevez, both 34 years old and from Philadelphia, for attempted theft and possession of instruments of crime.

According to their announcement, patrolling officers stopped a suspicious-looking tanker truck without a registration plate on October 7, which they first noticed in the rear alley of the Huntingdon Valley Shopping Center.

Officers made contact with the occupants and recognized the company logo on the truck from a recent theft investigation. The front right passenger was German, and the driver, Estevez, was known to officers as the owner of a van used in a prior incident.

After further investigation, officers determined the company which owns the truck had an estimated oil loss of $2,515.05 over an eight-month period.
