Lower Moreland police arrest convicted felon on Most Wanted List

The Lower Moreland Township Police Department arrested Jonathan Karcher, 43, of Philadelphia, on Thursday, May 22.

An arrest warrant for Karcher was issued in late November. He appeared on Montgomery County’s Most Wanted list in January.

An investigation began after patrolling officers followed a suspicious vehicle near Welsh Road in Huntingdon Valley on September 25, police said. They observed multiple traffic violations, a tinted plate cover, and fraudulent vehicle tags which the driver, Karcher, admitted to purchasing off of Facebook Marketplace.

Karcher could not provide officers with insurance, registration, or proof of ownership and was driving with a suspended driver’s license. His vehicle also had fraudulent inspection stickers, police said.

Further investigation revealed that Karcher was in possession of drug paraphernalia, including controlled substances and scales, and stolen firearms.

Karcher is listed as a felon not to possess firearms and was previously convicted of the same violation in 2019, making this case a felony of the first degree.
