Dr. Peter Lillback, longtime President of Westminster Theological Seminary in Glenside, officially stepped down from his role of 21 years on Tuesday.
Dr. Lillback will remain with Westminster as President’s Professor of Church History and Public Theology, the school said in an announcement.
Dr. Lillback earned a B.A. from Cedarville University in 1974, a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1978, and a Ph.D. from Westminster Theological Seminary in 1985. He was ordained in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church and holds credentials as a teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church in America. He also serves as the president emeritus and founder of The Providence Forum and senior editor of the new Unio cum Christo: An International Journal of Reformed Theology and Life.
In October 2025, Westminster announced the appointment of Dr. David B. Garner as the school’s fifth president, effective July 1.
